Isla future site, including refinery (11-02)

Commissioned by Refineria di Korsou, the owner company of the refinery in Curacao carry Curconsult and Ecorys Netherlands jointly a financial and economic cost-benefit analysis of three possible future scenarios for the Isla- refinery, namely: moving, upgrading or closing. It is working with specialist consultants in the areas of soil, oil and refining industry and environmentalists. This report is intended to enter into negotiations with the current operator, the Venezuelan oil company PDVSA and / or other applicants for the refinery. The report formulates concrete recommendations that could contribute to the process and a good strategic choice to come for the future of the refinery and the land on which the refinery is now.

Media Research Curacao 2011 (11-03),

The media research Curaçao 2011 Commissioned by 13 participating organizations Curconsult performs. This study answers the question: Who are the local mass media, namely television, radio, newspaper, magazine, internet and social media reach, how often, when, where and how? In addition, specific attention is paid to the differences in media use among young and old and from the local use of social media by businesses Curaçao.

This is now the fifth time that the media research appears. The results of these surveys from 2003-2011 are compared with each other so as to gain insight into the changes in usage and popularity of multimedia TV, radio, newspapers, magazines website. 2011 is the first time that explicit attention to social media.

Research among voters in the Caribbean Netherlands, April 2011 (11-04)

At the request of the Interior and Kingdom Relations is done among voters research in the Caribbean Netherlands. The central question in this research is: If the voting took note of the changed voting rules and understand this? This research is part of safeguarding the democratic running of Dutch elections as stipulated in the law.

A distinction is made between the voters of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Each island, and the island as a whole, has examined the information returned to profit.

Perception parents and students in the Caribbean Netherlands, May 2011 (11-05)

From October 11, 2010, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) is responsible for education in the Dutch Caribbean islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Since February, the Caribbean Netherlands onderwijswet- its own regulations. It is the intention of the Ministry of Education that in a good way is communicated in education on the islands as well as the parents and students. The first step is to know how parents and students perceive education, what is important, what the future of the child looks at how communication between parents and school and what they know about the new Caribbean Dutch education. Against this background Curconsult conducted a survey of 344 parents and group discussions were held on the islands with parents of pupils in primary and secondary education. Also held talks with students in the upper grades. The objective of the perception is to obtain insight into the acceptance of the changes in education on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba (Caribbean Netherlands) on which it is advised to start to the shaping of the communication to parents and students in the 2nd half 2011.

Tracking survey of professional education groups in the Caribbean Netherlands: baseline, May 2011 (11-06)

This project was commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The purpose of education tracking research in Caribbean Dutch is to measure progress in the levels of knowledge, attitude and behavior among education professionals (ministers, education officials, school boards, school administrators and teachers) about the educational changes that await them in the introduction of the Dutch Caribbean Education. The tracking research was developed through a mix of qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative part consisted of an extensive survey of education professionals on the islands. A total of 85 professionals participated. The qualitative part consisted of, in addition to document review and observations in schools, structured group discussions with professionals in an island (3x), with teachers on the islands (12x) as well as through informal contacts, including at the educational conference on 25-26 March 2011. In 2012 will be carried out a follow-up measurement of this tracking study.

Perception Caribbean Netherlands: “Together to build” (11-07)

There is quite a lot has happened since the political changes in the Caribbean Netherlands since October 10, 2010 (in short: “10-10-10”), and there is still a lot happening in this part of the Netherlands.

The citizens have experienced changes in the islands? Are people satisfied with the new constitutional relationship of his island in the Kingdom, expectations become reality (or should that happen), there is optimism and confidence in the new and intense relationship with the Netherlands, and there are some areas yet concerns? Also important is how the public is informed and what captivates them.

On behalf of the Kingdom Representative for Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba Curconsult conducted a study into how people on the three islands of the Caribbean Netherlands experience the changes. More precisely states the purpose of the study “how the people of the Caribbean Netherlands experience the changes due to the changed political changes within the Kingdom?”

What happened in the year after 10-10-10? (11-08)

The opinion poll, commissioned by Radio Netherlands about the situation one year after 10/10/10, the date Curacao got its autonomy in the Kingdom. A representative group of citizens on the island have been asked for their opinion on the new government Schotte, their voting behavior in the event of new elections would be organized and what for them in their personal situation, especially with regard to income has changed.

Cost of living ‘- research (11-08a)

The Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao , Sint Maarten, and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba has to Curconsult given the task to investigate the differences in cost of living . This research is used in an objective way to determine the differences in the cost of living between the islands of Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire and St. Maarten. This is done as follows:

1. There is a package of about 150 goods and services identified representative of the expenses of a family household.

2. Of these goods and services on the islands at different locations done through websites, brochures and official publications price recordings.

3. The share of a good or service in the household is weighted by the various budget surveys on the islands as performed by CBS and eilandelijkse.

4. Then, the differences in ‘cost of living’ calculated per island.

What happened after 10-10-10 in the Caribbean Netherlands and Sint Maarten? (11-09)

Has also been studied commissioned by Radio Netherlands Worldwide that the inhabitants of the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, Saba and believes Dutch side of St. Maarten on developments in their island which have occurred after the constitutional changes . Research among house hunters FK, December 2011 – January 2012 (11-10)

The Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP) is the owner of the former plantation Wechi. The plantation is wedged between Julianadorp, Malpais and the roundabout Zegu. FKP is considering in the future in this area to build houses for the people of Curaçao, mostly for households and individuals who registered as a house in particular. The FKP want to understand the organization three key questions: Wechi is a suitable residential location, what kind of housing is a need and the house hunter financially able to rent this house or buy?
